Part-Time Resident Advisory Committee

Overview

The Part-Time Resident Advisory Committee (PTRAC) is made up of part-time residents of Truro. It was constituted by the Select Board of the Town of Truro to give part-time residents a voice, provide Select Board members and other elected and appointed bodies with the benefit of information and views, and review policy proposals, make recommendations and share part-timers' perspective on matters of importance to the Town. We define "part-time residents" as people who are not full-time residents and therefore can't vote yet still have a stake in Truro. Our official charge and constitution can be found here: charge

We are currently focusing our efforts on three general areas, via three subcommittees:

1. Finances: Truro finances and spending policies that specifically impact part-time residents.

2. Communications: Identifying ways to maintain and improve communication between the Town and part-time residents.

3. Governance: Identifying ways to strengthen part-time residents’ ability to influence, be represented in, and participate in Town decision-making.

In December 2024, we circulated a survey to allow a greater number of part-timers to voice issues of concern and areas of satisfaction. For those who have not yet responded to the survey, you can do so here: survey.

You can reach PTRAC at ptrac@truro-ma.gov.
